Active-Feedback technology

Effective results through personalisation

How it works

SleepCogni delivers gentle vibration cues through the Trigger. When your child feels a vibration, they respond with a press of the button.

This active engagement provides a calming distraction that helps their mind switch off by shifting attention away from worry and rumination that often interfere with sleep.

Personalisation

By incorporating behavioural and physiological signals collected through the Trigger, SleepCogni adapts each vibration cue in real time using patented Active-Feedback™ technology.

This creates a responsive feedback loop that helps guide the mind toward relaxation and the natural transition into sleep.

The science

Active-Feedback™ technology is developed from principles in cognitive neuroscience and behavioural sleep research.

It supports the natural process of settling into sleep by helping reduce cognitive arousal, without medication, screens, or invasive stimulation.

Clinical trial results

SleepCogni conducted a randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trial, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University. The study involved 80 adults with chronic insomnia.

The peer-reviewed study, published in Frontiers in Sleep, demonstrated rapid and statistically significant improvements in Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) scores and sleep efficiency after seven nights of using SleepCogni’s patented Active-Feedback™ technology.

Participants reported difficulties such as falling asleep, waking during the night, or waking earlier than desired.

  • 4.2-point reduction in insomnia symptoms, measured by the ISI.
  • 37% of participants achieving a clinically meaningful improvement in just one week.
  • 56-minute increase in total sleep time.
  • 11-point improvement in sleep diary–derived sleep efficiency.
  • 78% of participants reported SleepCogni felt more effective than previous methods they had tried.

The NHS

The NHS has partnered with SleepCogni to support sleep management for children and young people

Sheffield Children’s Sleep Services, the UK’s largest paediatric sleep service, is working with SleepCogni to support sleep management for children and young people with complex needs, many of whom experience mental health difficulties and neurodivergent conditions.
